Helping Faith Communities Prepare, Protect, Respond & Recover.

Every house of worship deserves access to professional safety, security, and preparedness resources regardless of its size, denomination, geography, or financial resources.

Safe Assembly Project brings faith communities, security professionals, and public-safety partners together to help create safer places to worship, learn, gather, and serve.

Safety Shouldn't Depend on the Size of Your Congregation

No congregation should have to face a safety threat alone

Limited Resources

Many houses of worship know they need stronger safety and preparedness programs but simply don’t have the budget, personnel, or expertise to build them on their own.

Unclear Where to Start

Cameras, security teams, emergency plans, training, access control—knowing what your congregation actually needs can be overwhelming. Many leaders simply don’t know where to begin.

Disconnected Support

Safety requires more than equipment. Faith communities need training, planning, resources, and strong relationships with law enforcement and public-safety partners before an emergency happens.

Safe Assembly Project exists to close these gaps. Giving faith communities access to professional safety and preparedness resources regardless of their size, denomination, geography, or financial resources.

WHO WE ARE

Security Through Stewardship. Not Fear.

Safe Assembly Project, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the safety, preparedness, and resilience of houses of worship and faith-based organizations.

Our approach isn't about creating fear or militarizing places of worship.

It's about stewardship.

It's helping leaders understand their risks, preparing people before an emergency occurs, strengthening relationships with public safety, and giving communities the knowledge and resources they need to protect the people entrusted to their care.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is simple:

Helping faith communities prepare, protect, respond, and recover.

Everything we do is built around those four responsibilities.

PREPARE

Identify vulnerabilities, develop plans, build teams, establish relationships, and prepare before an emergency occurs.

PROTECT

Strengthen facilities, people, procedures, awareness, and protective capabilities.

RESPOND

Help leaders, staff, volunteers, and congregants understand what to do when seconds matter.

RECOVER

Support organizations in navigating the difficult period following a critical incident and help communities move toward recovery and resilience.

What We DO

Building a Complete Safety & Preparedness Ecosystem

Safety isn't one product, one training class, or one piece of equipment.

It requires layers.

Safe Assembly Project is being built to connect those layers into a comprehensive safety and preparedness resource for faith communities.

SECURITY ASSESSMENTS

Helping organizations identify vulnerabilities in their facilities, procedures, communications, and preparedness.

TRAINING & EDUCATION

Practical education for leaders, staff, volunteers, security teams, and congregants.

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

Helping organizations develop emergency action plans, communication procedures, response protocols, and exercises.

PUBLIC-SAFETY PARTNERSHIPS

Building relationships between faith communities, law enforcement, fire/EMS, emergency management, and other public-safety partners before an emergency occurs.

SECURITY RESOURCES

Helping organizations understand appropriate security improvements, technologies, resources, and protective measures.

GRANTS & FUNDING RESOURCES

Helping faith organizations identify potential resources and funding opportunities that may make needed security improvements possible.

POST-INCIDENT SUPPORT

Helping communities navigate the aftermath of a critical incident and connect with appropriate resources.

Our Approach / Public-Safety Network

More Than Security. A Network.

The strongest safety plan is built through relationships long before an emergency occurs.

Safe Assembly Project helps bring these groups together to strengthen communication, planning, training, and coordinated response for faith communities.

Meet the Team

Safer Communities Are Built Together.

No single organization can accomplish this mission alone.

Safe Assembly Project seeks to work alongside faith leaders, law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services, emergency management, security professionals, businesses, foundations, community organizations, and volunteers who believe in protecting the places where people gather.
